PDF and print-scale validation

Software contract

Automated tests cover conversion constants, page selection, geometry bounds, single-sheet oversize refusal, tiled coverage, PDF header generation, project round-trips, repeated layout stability, anisotropic correction, single application, profile switching, and unverified override labelling.

Physical protocol

  1. Export the known calibration fixture.
  2. Print at Actual Size/100%; disable scaling and Fit to Page.
  3. Measure both the horizontal and vertical 100 mm rulers.
  4. Record printer model, driver/app, OS, paper, orientation, settings, and result.
  5. Pass only when the owner-approved tolerance is met consistently on the intended printer set.

Follow PHYSICAL_PRINT_VALIDATION.md for multi-stage stencil workflows. Physical validation is not complete until measured hardware evidence is attached to the release ledger. A mathematically correct PDF is not proof of physical output.
